This past week the quarterback for the Washington Redskins Donovan McNabb signed a 5 year $78 million contract. This is two weeks after he was benched for the two minute drill against the Lions. He did not have the "cardiac endurance" to run the drill. McNabb who looked totally uninterested in the team must have solved his problems. Five years is a long time to spend with a coach that you do not like.
I believe that McNabb made the wrong decision when he signed the deal. He is a future Hall of Famer and he was benched for no good reason. The Redskins are known however, for giving deals to players after their prime. I would not want to make a deal with a team that treats me that poorly. Then again, $78 million is a lot.
I disagree because if a team offers as much as $78 mil. contract to a player not in his prime I think if I were in that spot I could put up with the coaches. In my opinion McNabb is lucky to be on a team with such a deal since many players who are not in their prime are forced to retire due to no team taking them.
ReplyDeleteI think it was wrong of the Redskins to offer the deal because now they are stuck with McNabb as their quarterback for another five years. They need to find a young quarterback that they can build their team around.
